The Prince Of Wales Hospital Ride For Life

The inaugural cycling event takes place Saturday 14 August 2004 coinciding with the Olympic Road Race in Athens. Cancer survivors, past Olympic champions, corporate groups, professional cyclists and the general public will take up the challenge at Centennial Park to help other cancer sufferers and raise money for the Oncology Department of The Prince of Wales Hospital. The event is proudly supported by the principal sponsor, Trust Company of Australia (Trust).

It's a fun day for everyone! Whether you are there to compete, cheer on professionals like Kevin Nichols, provide support for your corporate team, join in the "school children" pedal, or just enjoy the atmosphere it is a day to mark in your calendar. The day's events will be followed by dinner and entertainment at the Randwick Labor Club including an auction and screening of the Athens Road Race. Additional tickets are required to be purchased for the dinner.

Entry fees are $25 for a standard entry, $45 for late entry, and a team of three can register for only $100. All proceeds from the day go to supporting the Oncology Department at The Price of Wales Hospital.

The course will feature a 2.5 kilometre circuit closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The standard 30km/hr speed restriction at Centennial Park has been waived for the event.
